Uploading saved files to Microsoft Stream

As said in Hable training, Stream is like a private YouTube. We can use this platform to upload created videos, and share links to students through SMHW/Teams/Email etc.

  1. Login to Office 365 through Chrome
  2. Click on the 9 dots top left, and select “All Apps” and then search for a red arrow called “Stream”
  3. To upload your video, click on “Create”, followed by “Upload Video”
  4. Either drag your video file onto the page, or click browse, and locate where you have saved your recording.
  5. Once your video is selected, select English as the language, and press save.
  6. Here you can give your video a title and short description. This will help students understand what they are about to view.
  7. Click on “Options” and choose whether you would like comments on or off. Off is recommended.
  8. Press Publish when you are ready to upload the video
    1. Click on the “my videos” button to see the status of your recording.

Now you have created the content, and have uploaded it to Microsoft Stream, the last step is to share the link with students.

  1. In my content (on Stream), click on the video you have created, and scroll down to the share button underneath the video.
  2. This will open a new page, with a “direct link to video”. Select copy.
  3. Now you can paste this link into SMHW, Teams, or even send to specific students/staff as an email.
